MY FAVORITE LITTLE MAN
Selzer is still with me, and I don't mind at all. He is the sweetest, most wonderful little gentleman, my buddy. Don't let his age deter you - he is a bundle of energy. Another foster took him for me for a week, she is an ambitious lady who takes her dogs to the dog park every morning. She has much younger dogs that she takes on 3 or 4 runs around the dog park. When she found out Selzer's age, she was astounded - had thought he was a puppy! Selzer loves to ride in the car with me, gets very excited when he sees his leash, always ready to go. All I have to say is "potty" and he is out the back door in a flash (fenced yard, of course) Altho I wish him a forever home of his own, this is one I will be sad to see leave. But he needs a home of his own - to get all that special attention he so deserves.
NINA - QUEEN OF THE WORLD
I have been so remiss on my blog, it is a wonder that I have not been fired!! This is beautiful Nina. When she first came to WI, the only hair she had was on her head. The vet down South ( who raises Chinese Crested) deemed her a cross. Thought she might be a Hairy Hairless Crested. Well, whatever Nina was crossed with is related to Bigfoot, cause this little gal has a fantastic coat of hair!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Her hind quarters are particularly cute with the swirls and curls! She is almost all white (couple stray brown hairs on her back) with a brown and black mane and ears. She is housebroken, always a biggie. Wonderful girl, with the imperialistic Crested personality. Loves to be cuddled. Gets along with everyone - dogs and people. If you are looking for something unique - this would be your girl. To get an idea of how far she has come - scroll down and look at her early pics. Quite a change!

CHECKER
I wondered how Checker would feel when Merlo left, but he has formed an alliance (unexpectedly) with Nina, the Chinese Crested. They are the odd couple, but enjoy each other immensely. Checker is working hard on his potty training and this warmer weather has helped . Last Sunday, I was ready for church, all dressed up, and then decided to take the pups out in the back yard, one last time before I left. I am gazing at the birds in the trees, watching the geese fly over, daydreaming away, when I feel a SPLAT hit my face. I turned to find Checker had found a small puddle right next to me and he was throwing water, mud, and a few leaves 6 feet in the air. The front feet were going a mile a minute in the water, and before I could move I was covered from head to toe. He found such delight in this, that all I could do was laugh and change my clothes!
He is such a happy pup; the world is so much less scary to him now. He is turning into quite a handsome dog, definitely some hound in there somewhere. He is long, but short, with a beautiful coat.
Still waiting for that forever family that will take him on the next part of his journey.

HAPPY SEND OFF
Merlo ( now to be known as Pepper) has found her forever home. I could see how much they loved her and will just spoil her to pieces! Lucky girl.

MERLOT ( KNOWN AS LOLO)
Lolo has such a great personality. She would be perfect for someone who wants a puppy, but not all the puppy drama. She has never chewed something that wasn't hers, she isn't overactive, racing around the house constantly. She loves to tear around the yard, but understands the difference between outside play and inside play. Very seldom have I heard her bark. She plays very well with the other dogs and she is very kind to the old people. I have 3 elderly puppy mill survivors, 12, 14, 16. Lolo gets it that they do not care to be jumped on and chased. She is very fond of my Beagle's ears, as are all puppies. Don't know if it the texture, the softness; but Lolo loves to climb on him and rub her head on those ears. I think she would do well with any family and may make a great apartment dog. She needs a special home with someone that adores her. Think about it!
