When I woke up this morning, I discovered someone had switched puppies on me in the middle of the night. Instead of the ball of energy that had walked in my front door yesterday, there was this cuddly little girl who just wanted to be petted and sleep. It occurred to me that after having her surgery a couple weeks ago, Resee probably hasn't had much of an opportunity to romp and play - and that is exactly what she did until 10:00 last night. This morning it caught up with her!
The resilience of dogs amazes me tho, and by noon she was up and running. I can't get over how resourceful she is. She will want to do something, try it unsuccessfully, then sits and cocks her head and thinks about it. The second try is usually quite successful. An example is getting off the couch - first time, smack on her nose, didn't feel too good. The next time she attempted it, she extended her one front leg to the floor, balanced on it and came down quite nicely. Amazing! Getting up on the couch is still a challenge - she thought she had a good plan, but it didn't quite work out. She put her one leg up, reached her nose out, and grabbed a hold of Homer trying to pull herself up. Homer was not a willing participant in this plan and let her know so in short order. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
